Test run on receipt and put away until now. Loco is in excellent unmarked condition. Tested for this listing on a 1 yard length of track using a Gaugemaster DS controller. Loco runs well in both directions with no hesitations noted. In one direction the motor does emit a slight'crackle' noise but this in no way affects its running performance.
Features sprung buffers, directional lighting and directional rotating roof fan. Please note though that although loco performs well, it has not been used in 16 years. A period of running in or a stint on a rolling road is recommended to ease up moving parts before use on a layout. In my research before listing this item, I discovered that this model is prone to the mazak chassis casting degrading over time which can lead to the front ends under the driver cab area breaking free. In extreme cases the mazak swells causing the cab itself to crack and split open.
I have carefully examined this model and I cannot find any evidence of such faults being present. Complete with unopened small accessories pack as shown in photograph. Box and internal packaging in near excellent condition overall.
